Geographical Location & Four-season Weather
The mountainous Roudbarak area is located to the Northeast of Semnan Province where the forests of the province mainly begin to appear. It is cool and there is precipitation in spring; it is cool in summer too. It is cold in fall and winter and there are heavy snowfalls; the height of snow mass even reaches 1.5 meter.
1. At a distance of 65 km away from Semnan City there is a tarmac road from Semnan to Shahmirzad and Rasam Roudbar. Then, there are two dirt roads both which both end to Roudbarak. The distance between the tarmac road and the Lower Roudbarak is about 15 km.
2. Area: The total area of Roudbarak is well over 8, 000 hectares which includes 3, 000 hectares of prairies and 1, 500 of farmlands and orchards.
3. Dialect: People of Roudbarak speak in their own dialect. In their dialect, there are some English words; for example, if someone does something right they say “Ake” which is the same English word “ok”. Also in some accents, “r” is pronounced as “gh” just as the French do. All in all, dialect contains a combination of words used in Mazandaran and Mahdishahr which are used based on syntax peculiar to the area. All these words and expression are being prepared and formulated in form of a separate collection and shall be put at the disposal of the interested ones
4. Local position: The area is comprised of low lands and highlands. There are rock-ribbed mountains like “Lapi”, and straits and hills made of stone and soil, such as “Borj Tigh”. There are also vast plains in areas such as “Saram”, “Tarakchal”, “Sarkouh”, “Roupi”, and “Abandan” which are all covered by diverse trees and plants.

B) La’lum Cave, La’lum Divkhaneh, Rowshan (light) and Tarik (dark) straits, Googhaltal, Mashti Cave of Sar La’lum which has rooms with lime ceilings, the Twin Caves also known as “Dolileh” (with an entrance of 3x3 m and depth of 300 m), the Tablet of Strait (Benveshteh Kamar), Gujuju (located in Zardeposht Seyyed Chal where the rocks are in shape of a cow’s breast out of which water drops), Seyyed Chal, Palang Ow (Palang Ab), Natural glassier (Roupi), Devkhaneh Padim, Ghal’e Gardan, Gandi Ow (Ab Gandin), Ow bon Dare, Vavsar )Badosar), Camel way from top to La’lum ( it’s trace is existing), Likadou of Chakal Tangeh (strait) (A hole in the shape of heart has been made in the high rock through which a camel can pass with its load; this hole looks like a heart from far), La’lum well (a rock well), with a diameter of 3 m and depth of 15 m, Khani alam well (Chakhomreh), Water mill (in the Roudbarak neighborhood) (Charnoo with extremely cold water).
Big Chali, Small Chali, Chargard, Chali Kesh, Asbi Ow( Sefid Ab), La’lum, Piyajam, Lapi Rocks, Ierat, Shekar Zamin wich is in the above of the Araghegar, Ietegar (limit of the Roudbarak and Bandebon village), Khil Dakte, Kalajbur rock cave with an area of 4000 square meters. Alam,La’lum rock stairs( named Gatborj), Borj Tigh hill above the Ab Andan plain.

7. Wild Flora
Edibles: Lola, Sare, Elzi, Panbe Rik, Sheng (it has milk), Mandar, Kardikvash, Toopa, Sorkh Bone, Edible Forest Mashroom, Caraway, Kelk( Golpar), Gazane Ash (a kind of herb which is brewed and drunk like tea), Benushe flower, Khake shir, Safsafi.
Medicinal: Mure (for treatment of earache), Chicory flower, Chamomile, Pip Nak, Owji( mint) and other medicinal herbs to whose names we do not have access.

Miscellaneous: Pofi, Va( provender), Saze ( for sweeping), Palam(for isolation of rice baking cisterns and soothing mosquito bite), Godbanali, Dandelion, Bigham flower (autumnal), Kashk Rizi, Mehr Lola (provender), Sazil (It often grows in lagoons and has very strong roots), Joz Garm, Barooje ( It often grows in the region of the Barooje Tigh hill)

Species of Trees: Muzi (black oak), Dombal (white oak), Maras (rash), Enjili, Azdar, Fak, maple, Aghuz Dar (walnut), Sefid Dar (Poplar), Malach, Ahl, Gandas, Telka black and white, Barberry, Raspberry, Vejer, Afra, Heli Lag, Bil Meshk (with tripod branches suitable for airing the stack), Askalam, Tongoz, Hapook (Soapy fruits), Sag Za, Angoorak, Tagh Dane, Varnak, Tej Sefid, Tel Siyah, Sim Doone, Forest Apple, Heli(domestic greengage), Tuska (industrial tree), Azdar, Bozoolag, Sheng.

Forest (wild) fruits: Angourak (wild grapes), varank, helikek, vajar, seemdaneh, kandas, valik (red and black), telka, bush seemdaneh, barberry, wild strawberry, black, white and red berries, black plum (seti), heli ( domestic greengage), apricot, walnut (aghuz), sour (unripe) grapes (mainly in form of wild pomegranate grapes found in Eyrat area)

Coal mines in L’aligar Saram Din Tappeh, Angourak Jari, hydrant gypsum, li pish, white gypsum in Padim, Lime in Seyyed Chal sang, Siliceous in Seyyed Chal, and other mines which have not been discovered yet but they are there.
14. A Brief Des cription of an Open Mine: In the siliceous mine of Seyyed Chall which currently has limestone, only the limestone is used, and after the stones are baked, pieces of glass remain.

Beasts: Pigs, wild pigs, bears (white, black, khal garden, samand), leopards (everywhere), wolves (in Sarkouh, Saram and Abandan), jackals, foxes, wild cats, rabbits, martens, tashi, hedgehogs, armanji, and indigenous dogs, khorousak (like roosters), rats, and large ferrets
Reptiles: red, black, black and white snakes and tirmohr snake (which very thin and long but extremely poisonous), crabs, frogs, and different reptiles
Species of Birds: kook, kootar, Jool, aleh, vasheh, kashki, crow, blind crow, jjka, black tika, jarjari, robin, woodpecker, chuchak, patkaleh (owl), Yakarim, woodpecker, nightingale, badbadeh (vay hossein koshte shod), shah shekar (la’loum), large gook, shouparpari (a bat like bird)
Species of Insects: La’l (mosquito), yellow bees, honeybees, La’lombaz, jirjerayi, winged maloucheh, green grasshoppers, gray grasshoppers, Shahasb, Sheitun, scorpions, dalmak, bandyaloun, izou, kinaksu, nini, lous,…, different butterflies called “Bapli”, and other insect whose names there is no access to.
